Central Christian Church

Come. Let's make a world of difference.

About Us

Central Christian Church is one of the first churches established in what is now the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1833.

Throughout its history Central has struggled with questions of faith and justice: slavery, civil rights, accessible education, programs for children in poverty, and overseas ministries.  More recently we have prayed, studied and acted on issues such as immigration, hunger, clothing, fair wages, and welcoming of all regardless of sexual orientation or gender role.

We also struggle together on the more personal questions of faith: what does the gospel message mean to each of us, where is our individual place in the work of God, and how do I know?

You are welcome here, whatever your story. It is in our differences that we are enriched. It takes time to hear all the voices that make up Central, and people are continually surprised when they hear portions of their own journey that has been experienced by someone they never would have expected.

Take some time to get to know us. And we will delight in doing the same.
