Central has two primary leadership groups, the General Board and the Ministry Coordination Council.
General Board
The General Board focuses on matters of policy. It is composed of the elected officers of the congregation, representatives of the deacons, elders, and trustees, and the senior pastor, for a total of 20 members. During 2011-2012 the officers are as follows:

Treasurer: Jennifer Collins
Deacons, elders, and trustees are also elected positions and they serve three-year terms. Each year, six deacons, six elders, and three trustees are selected to serve on the General Board.
Ministry Coordination Council (MCC)
Comprised of the moderator, vice moderator, treasurer, pastor, team leaders of each of the ministry teams plus trustee, deacon and elder chairs, the MCC serves as the program planning group for the congregation. Carolyn Higginbotham, our vice-moderator, is the facilitator for the MCC.
Ministry Teams
Worship Ministry Team
Working with Pastor Linda and Rachel Dickey our choir director, the Worship Ministry Team focuses on enhancing the worship service as well as providing Worship and Wonder for the children ages 3 to 2nd grade. The Worship Ministry Team Leader for 2011-2012 is Bob McIntyre.
Community Ministry Team
Charged with facilitating the growth of community with those who attend worship and those who have not visited but are seeking a church home. Done through church events, personal contact, participating in larger community events, etc. The hope is that all at Central will see themselves as participants in this Ministry Team. The Community Ministry Team Leader in 2011-2012 is Erin Leraris.
Witness Ministry Team
Focusing on the portion of the Mission Statement that reads “to confront oppression and injustice, and to extend God's boundless hospitality to all” the team works both in providing services of food and clothing, working to educate through studies, movies and discussions as well as working to advocate for changes where injustice is found. The Witness Ministry Team Leader for 2011-2012 is Jean Brandenburg.
Spiritual Growth Ministry Team
Working to help with the “wrestling with deep questions of faith” portion of our mission statement, the Spiritual Growth Ministry Team works with adult studies and Young Disciples (grades 3-5), among other areas. It shares responsibility for stewardship education with the Finance Ministry Support Team. Julie Miller leads this team during 2011-2012.
Support Ministry Teams
Physical Assets Ministry Support Team
Built in 1892 and 1922 our building requires constant care. The Physical Assets Ministry Support Team coordinates this work with the assistance of custodial staff and a large group of volunteers. Judith Wray is the leader for the Physical Assets Team during 2011-2012.
Finance Ministry Support Team
The Finance Team works to ensure the appropriate financial oversight in handling our donations, income from the parking lot and facility rental as well as our expenses. The Finance Team guides the budget process and, along with the Spiritual Growth Team, oversees the stewardship campaign for the congregation. For 2011-2012, the ministry team leader is Calvin Porter working closely with the treasurer.
Volunteer Ministry Support Team
With our new organizational structure (adopted in 2008), finding people willing to coordinate others in the ministry of the church was identified as a key component for the success of the change. The Volunteer Ministry Support Team plays an integral part in matching those with a passion up with the ministry team that has the deepest need. The Volunteer Team leader for 2011-2012 is Kerry Armstrong.
Communication Ministry Support Team
The Communication Team helps the congregation share information effectively both internally and externally. It is responsible for the congregation's website, newsletter, signage and other forms of communication. During 2011-2012, Lloyd Wright is leader for the Communication Team.
