
Lee Hull Moses
Senior Pastor
Lee Hull Moses (she/her) has been a minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for more than 20 years. Raised at West Street Christian Church in Tipton, Indiana, she was ordained in the Indiana region in 2004. Lee has a bachelor’s degree from Albion College, an M.Div. from the Divinity School at the University of Chicago, and a D.Min. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.
Since 2019, Lee has served in the Office of the General Minister and President for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), first as Vice President and Chief of Staff and then as Executive Director of the Proclamation Project, a grant-funded initiative to support and equip Disciples preachers. In these roles, she provided executive leadership for budget, staff, and program management.
Lee was Senior Minister of First Christian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina from 2009 to 2019. While there, she guided the congregation through significant staff and worship changes, mentored student ministers, led a major capital campaign, helped establish a legacy fund for estate gifts, and celebrated the church’s centennial anniversary.
As Minister of Faith and Family at First Christian Church in Falls Church, Virginia from 2004-2009, she led ministries for young adults and families and coordinated communications efforts. More recently, she served as short-term interim minister at Trafalgar Christian Church and Avon Christian Church in the Indianapolis area.
Lee has served the wider church as a member of several boards, including as President of the Board of Trustees of the Disciples Divinity House at the University of Chicago, the editorial board of the Young Clergy Women Project, and the governing board of the North Carolina Council of Churches. She is currently a member of the board of directors for Chalice Press.
Lee is a writer whose work has appeared in the Christian Century magazine, among other online and print publications. She is the author of More Than Enough: Living
Abundantly in a Culture of Excess (2016) and the co-author of Hopes and Fears: Everyday Theology for New Parents and Other Tired, Anxious People (2012; revised 2025). Samples of Lee’s writings and sermons can be found at www.leehullmoses.com.
Lee is married to Robert Moses (he/his), who works in cybersecurity. Lee and Rob have two children: Harper (she/her) is a first-year college student and Jonathan (he/his) is in 8th grade.
