Winter Solstice Celebration: Sacred Release

Come join us for a respite from the busy-ness of the season as we celebrate the Winter Solstice on Friday, December 20th from 6-8 pm.  We will join people across the northern hemisphere who will gather on the longest night of the year to embrace the quiet stillness for which our souls so deeply yearn.  In this event Gina Cerimele will offer a short presentation of the lore and spiritual meaning of the Winter Solstice, as well as lead us in meditation.  You will have the opportunity to stay in quiet, still contemplation for an extended period of time, and/or take part in an active meditation experience such as walking the indoor labyrinth and making a winter votive.

The theme for our Winter Solstice event will be Sacred Release.  What beliefs, energies and actions do you carry that no longer serve you?  How might your life be different if you could let go a little more?  You will have the opportunity to explore these questions throughout the night, as well symbolically release your burden through the activities offered.  To that end, you are invited to bring a symbol of what you want to release to place on our Winter Solstice altar.  (You will not be asked to talk about it, and you will be able to take your symbol home with you.  If you can’t think of a good symbol, don’t worry...you can simply write it on a piece of paper.  It’s the intention that matters.)
